Meet Eric A. Lichtenstein, MD

Since completing his fellowship in 1999, Dr. Eric Lichtenstein has dedicated his career to pediatric ophthalmology with a distinct focus in pediatric oculoplastics. In 2001, he founded the first pediatric ophthalmology practice in Queens. The practice’s mission is to prevent childhood vision loss and alleviate suffering from pediatric eye diseases, offering specialized care without the inconvenience of going to Manhattan.

Dr. Lichtenstein’s amiable and child-friendly approach to evaluating babies and children has distinguished him as one of the leading specialists in New York and the tri-state area. His expertise not only addresses functional issues but also enhances aesthetic outcomes, significantly improving the quality of life for his young patients.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Lichtenstein served over a decade as a Strabismus surgical instructor for The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary residency program and as an Anterior Segment Trauma instructor. In 2010, he played a pivotal role as a founding partner of the first ASC in Queens to provide general anesthesia for pediatric patients.

In order for me to adequately express my gratitude for Dr.Lichtenstein, I must first provide some back story. We are a military family that has spent the better part of the last few years traveling. During this time we had a wonderful little girl whom we noticed had trouble keeping her eyes straight from the start.
