At PedsEyeVIP.com, we are committed to providing your child with the highest standard of pediatric eye care. To ensure we continue to meet this commitment, we are making some important changes to our insurance participation.
Pediatric Eye Center Insurance FAQ:
What is changing?
Starting in July 2026, our practice will no longer be in-network with Fidelis Care and MetroPlus insurance plans. The specific end dates are: • Fidelis Care: Effective July 1, 2026 • MetroPlus: Effective July 9, 2026.
Why are you making this change?
This was a difficult decision, but it was made with our patients' best interests in mind. By transitioning away from these plans, we can focus on providing a 'concierge-level' experience that includes: • More Appointment Availability: Reduced wait times for scheduling. • More Time Per Patient: Longer, more thorough consultations. • Less Rush: A calmer, more personalized environment for your child’s care.
Can we still stay with the practice?
Yes! We would love for you to stay with us. While we will no longer accept these specific insurance plans as in-network providers, you can still receive care through our Direct Payment Division. We also offer financing options like CareCredit to help make high-quality care accessible.
What if I need to see a doctor who takes my insurance?
We completely understand if you need to 'go where they take insurance' to manage your healthcare costs. If you need to transition your child’s care to a different provider in Queens, here are ophthalmology offices with pediatric ophthalmologists who currently accept Fidelis and/or MetroPlus:
Jamaica Hospital Clinic (718) 206-5900,
Mount Sinai Clinic (212) 241-0939,
Elmhurst Hospital Clinic (718) 334-5970,
NYU Clinic (212) 263-2573.
You can also use: Fidelis Doctor Search or: Metroplus Doctor Search.
Can I get copies of my records to help with the transition?
Absolutely. To make your transition as smooth as possible, we will provide your records upon request. Just let us know what you need, and we’ll get them to you quickly.
